The man charged with the murder of a Kiwi woman after meeting her through the dating app Tinder has avoided further punishment over a drink-driving incident.
Gable Tostee, 28, will stand trial this year over the death of Warriena Wright. Ms Wright died in August 2014 after she fell from the balcony of Tostee's Surfers Paradise apartment.
A trial date is yet to be set, however, Tostee appeared on unrelated charges at Brisbane's Southport Magistrates Court yesterday.
He was convicted of charges of drink driving and breaching bail conditions and was suspended from driving for 15 months. Two unrelated charges of obstructing police and public nuisance were dismissed.
Tostee, who changed his name by deed poll to Eric Thomas, took to Facebook after his court appearance in Brisbane yesterday to post a video and comment about the case.
