Up to 80 people are feared dead after a bus plunged into a dam in South Africa yesterday.
The bus was carrying members of the country's largest trade union to May Day celebrations in the town of Qwa Qwa, in the Free State province, when the bus driver apparently lost his way and drove down a gravel path that led to the dam.
Police Superintendent Sam Sesing said the bus was underwater and rescue operations were under way.
He said five bodies had been retrieved and 10 people had been hospitalised.
