Chile's Supreme Court denied bail to former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori as Peru began the process of extraditing him to face human rights and corruption charges.
Fujimori was arrested this week after arriving in Santiago on a surprise visit from Japan, where he has lived for five years to avoid prosecution in Peru after his 1990-2000 rule collapsed in a corruption scandal. He had planned to run for President in Peru next year.
