France's new Prime Minister has outraged his left-wing opponents by holding talks on Europe with the National Front - the far-right party's first meeting at the Premier's office for more than a decade.
The Socialist Party boycotted its own talks with Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin in protest at the invitation issued to the National Front a month after French voters rejected the European Union constitution.
