Sydney airport is experiencing some disruption due to early morning fog, with several international flight arrivals diverted to Melbourne.
A spokesman for Sydney airport said heavy fog caused some disruption to eight flights attempting to land at the airport early this morning.
The flights, all of which departed from Bangkok and Singapore, were diverted to Melbourne airport.
International arrivals are now returning to normal and there are currently no disruptions to domestic flight arrivals or domestic and international departures, the spokesman said.
Senior Bureau of Meteorology forecaster James Taylor said the fog is mostly concentrated out in western Sydney and is causing some reduced visibility throughout the city.
"It should clear by about lunchtime, with some pockets lingering into the early afternoon," he told AAP.
