Five policemen killed in Iraq

Gunmen killed five Iraqi policemen at a checkpoint in Baghdad last night and the attack was followed by an explosion in the area.

The checkpoint attack occurred near a military college that serves as a camp for US troops.

On Saturday, a series of guerrilla strikes in Baghdad and nearby areas killed more than 30 people and wounded nearly 100.

Yesterday three car bombs targeting military patrols exploded in Baghdad, killing four people and wounding 16.
