Five people have been killed in a fiery crash between a car and truck in Victoria's western district.
Rural Ambulance Victoria says paramedics raced to the scene around 12.45pm (AEDT) at Penshurst, near Hamilton, at the intersection of Hamilton-Chatsworth Road and Blackwood Dunkeld Road.
Both vehicles burst into flames on impact, RAV spokesman John Mullen said.
He said five people were confirmed deceased and a sixth was trapped in the car.
The ages and further details of the victims are not yet available.
Earlier on Saturday, a 17-year-old driver died in a single car crash in Melbourne's east.
Police said the teenage driver, who had four male passengers, lost control of the vehicle around 3am in Mt Dandenong.
Two of the passengers, a 16-year-old male from Croydon South and a 19-year-old from Ringwood East, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Maroondah Hospital.
