An illicit midnight ride in the rain on the Sydney Easter Show's super-slide has left five people with injuries ranging from broken legs, broken ribs and internal bleeding.
It was about 12.20am on Sunday, when a group of six people - five Sydney Royal Easter Show's contractors and a guest - broke into the ride.
Torrential rain had forced the ride to close for two days, according to the Easter Show's chief operating officer Michael Collins.
"The ride does not operate in the rain ... it's about safety," he told AAP.
"These people have obviously walked past the slide, decided I guess that they want access, and somehow they've ridden the slide and we've got a few injuries from that."
