MELBOURNE - Five men have been charged over the death of an Aboriginal man in Melbourne.
The victim, Greg Harrison was allegedly bludgeoned to death about 11pm on Friday on the Princes Highway in Dandenong, in what his relatives say was a racist attack.
Last night, an 18-year-old Dandenong man appeared in an out-of-sessions court hearing, charged with murder, affray and assault.
Four other men, two from Noble Park, west of Dandenong North, aged 19 and 20, a 19-year-old man from Dandenong North and a 17-year-old boy from Endeavour Hills, east of Dandenong North, also appeared and were charged with affray and assault.
All five were remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police believe Mr Harrison -- a 24-year-old father of two -- died from injuries to his head and upper body.
Yesterday, his distraught aunt, Deb Harrison, described him as a "beautiful boy, very strong, proud Aboriginal man".
"How many more children do we have to lose before something gets done? It's not right," Ms Harrison said.
