Queen Elizabeth has become a great-grandmother with the birth of Peter and Autumn Phillips' first born yesterday.
The baby girl was delivered at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and weighed 8lbs 8oz (3.8kg).
Mr Phillips, who was present at the birth, is the only son of Princess Anne and her first husband Mark Phillips, and is the eldest grandchild of the Queen and Prince Philip.
A statement from the British Monarchy's website said the Queen, Prince Philip, Princess Anne, Mark Phillips and Autumn's family have been informed and are delighted with the news. The baby's name will be confirmed in due course.
The baby is twelfth in line to the throne.
