Fire shuts US island ride

An island ride at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida was evacuated after fire engulfed a roof structure under which the ride carries visitors.

No major injuries were reported.

Spokesman Tom Schroder said an employee noticed smoke rising from Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, a log float ride at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

The park is part of the resort, which includes Universal Studios.
