SYDNEY - A man has had part of his finger bitten off as he fought to stop two men abducting his wife in Sydney's west.
Police say a 26-year-old woman was with her 24-year-old husband at their unit in Everton Road, Strathfield, when two men allegedly forced their way in early yesterday.
Macquarie Radio reported one of the intruders was her brother, who apparently wanted his sister to return to India because her family is unhappy about her marriage.
When he struggled to prevent the intruders snatching his wife, the 24-year-old man allegedly had the top of his finger bitten off and suffered head injuries. He was treated at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
The woman is assisting police with their inquiries.
