Fiji's President Ratu Josefa Iloilo has named a new Government this afternoon with Laisenia Qarase being retained as Prime Minister.
After being sworn in as the President of Fiji this morning Ratu Iloilo moved quickly to name the Government, made up of a 20-member cabinet and 11 assistant ministers.
The administration contains only a few of coup-leader George Speight's nominations, Speight had sought a replacement for Mr Qarase as Prime Minister but his nominee for the position was overlooked.
Mr Speight refused to rule out further unrest in Fiji if the make-up of the new Government was not in keeping with the rebels' wishes.
He is reportedly annoyed that the new cabinet does not include any rebel supporters.
