Fiji police have recommended four people be prosecuted for plotting to kidnap and assassinate the South Pacific nation's first ethnic Indian prime minister during political upheavals in 2000.
Police Commissioner Andrew Hughes said investigations also were under way into an alleged plot to bomb the nation's Nadi International Airport in 2000 and another plot to murder members of ousted Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry's government.
