The Fiji Times is up for sale.
Accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has called for expressions of interest from parties wanting to acquire interest in the Times from its owners, Rupert Murdoch's News Limited.
The daily newspaper based in Suva has been publishing for almost 140 years and is Fiji's oldest.
The paper has had a rocky time since the latest military coup in 2006.
It suspended publishing for a period, in response to acts of media censorship by the Bainimarama-led military government.
The military regime has been agitating for media organisations on the island group to be principally locally-owned.
