Moves are afoot to have Fiji banned from next year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
The Commonwealth ministerial group has met in New York and agreed to ask the Commonwealth Games Federation to review Fiji's participation, Radio New Zealand reported.
A group spokesman said Fiji would be boycotted in line with its Commonwealth suspension, unless it committed to holding an election before 2014.
The military regime of self-appointed Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama has been in power since a 2006 coup.
