A Sikh family is taking on a Christian school after their 5-year-old son was banned from wearing his traditional turban.
Five-year-old Sidhak Singh Arora was due to start at Melbourne's Melton Christian College, however was told he is not allowed his patka - a turban for children.
Sidhak's father Sagardeep Singh Arora is standing up to the school, believing that his son is being denied a basic human right outlined in the Equal Opportunity Act.
Mr Singh Arora told ABC he was shocked the school wouldn't make an exception for his son.
"I believe students should be allowed to practice their religion and should be allowed to wear their article of faith," he said.
