Enough fat to fill nine double-decker buses is being removed from sewers in central London in the largest sewer clean-up of its kind.
A team of "flushers" equipped with full breathing apparatus has been drafted in with shovels to dig out 1000 tonnes of fat from an area under Leicester Square.
The clean-up will last about two weeks.
