A five-day-old baby girl has died in Florida after police say the family's pet bit bull climbed into her crib and attacked her.
Investigators with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office say they are looking into the circumstances surrounding the newborn's mauling death, which has been ruled an accident.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed against the victim's family members who were present during the incident a week ago, the Daily Mail reports.
According to an incident report, at 12.20am on November 11, first responders arrived at an address on West Ranchetta Street in Dunnellon for a report of a dog attack, reported Citrus County Chronicle.
Deputies with the sheriff's office walked in on a grandfather performing CPR on the infant.
