The discovery of two shoes and three human bones in bushland on the Sunshine Coast is a promising sign Daniel Morcombe may finally have been found, but his father says he will wait for definite proof before making plans to bury his son.
A pair of shoes were found last week that were the same Globe brand as those the 13-year-old was wearing when he was last seen alive in 2003.
Father Bruce Morcombe said the find was significant but not conclusive.
"DNA is going to be extremely helpful as well as scientific tests for wear patterns and things," he said. "There are still many tests to be conducted to make sure beyond doubt that they do belong to Daniel."
Police had been searching muddy bush near the town of Beerwah for a week, after a man was charged with Daniel's murder.
