The decaying remains of a couple and their three young children were found buried at a house in the Honduran city of El Progreso, 200km north of the capital, Honduran police said yesterday.
The couple, ages 47 and 22, had been buried under a porch and the three children - ages 7, 5 and 1 - were found under a floor inside the same house, police spokesman Oscar Castillo said. All the bodies showed signs of torture and appeared to have been strangled using wire about a week ago, police said.
Police said it was not clear what might have motivated the killings.
