LONDON - The relatives of the London bombing victims have been shown the places where their loved ones perished or were maimed in the July 7 attacks which claimed 52 lives and wounded hundreds.
Police took family members to two underground stations targeted by the suspected suicide bombers and to the central London square where a bomb exploded on a double-decker bus.
The Aldgate and Edgware Road underground stations were open for flowers and other tributes to be left, but continuing recovery work on the wrecked train near Russell Square meant family members there had to pay their respects above ground.
Police officers and the coroner briefed the families on the investigation and identification process.
Today was the first opportunity for all those people directly affected by the bombing to meet others whose loved ones were killed or badly injured.
Excluding the bombers, 26 people were killed on a train travelling from King's Cross to Russell Square, seven died on a train at Aldgate, six perished at Edgware road and 13 lost their lives on the number 30 bus at Tavistock Square.
