Save Facebook is testing a "pay to be popular" option in New Zealand so users can get noticed by their friends
The social network is currently offering some users a $2 "highlight" feature to ensure their posts are seen by more people.
It's one of several money-making drives being testing ahead
of Facebook's listing on the stockmarket.
Recent figures have shown that only 12 per cent of users' Facebook friends see an average status update.
The highlight feature will let users pay to have posts appear to more friends.
