Facebook has finally taken down photographs of a murdered woman with the man who killed her following a campaign backed by more than 11,000 people.
Nine pictures of hairdresser Hollie Gazzard with her ex-boyfriend Asher Maslin - who is serving a life sentence for stabbing her 14 times last year - were still visible on her profile page more than a year after her death.
But when her father Nick asked Facebook to remove the upsetting photos it refused, saying that when a person's profile on the website is 'memorialised', changes cannot be made.
A distressed Mr Gazzard launched a petition last month urging the firm to reconsider. After it gained 11,567 signatures in two weeks Facebook caved in and removed the photos from the 20-year-old's profile.
'We are delighted', Mr Gazzard said yesterday. 'Now we can all browse her photos without getting upset.'
