KEY POINTS:
Two young Australian adventurers who survived an epic 70-day trek through the Canadian Arctic, returned home yesterday, their bodies - and friendship - still intact.
NSW men Chris Bray, 25, and Clark Carter, 24, dragged 500kg of equipment 600km across Victoria Island, the first to do so unassisted.
Bray said: "Because there was only two of us out there we needed each other to survive ... there was no walking away from each other."
The animals on the island had never seen humans before and would often wander up to them out of curiosity.
