KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) A former judge in Jamaica has been released on bail two days after she and three of her employees were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the island's lucrative lottery scam.
Dionne Maylor-Reid is a former resident magistrate. She is now a defense lawyer.
Maylor-Reid was arrested Monday after anti-corruption officers searched her office and alleged they found lottery scam documents called "lead lists" that have victims' personal information. Police say they also seized an illegal gun.
Defense lawyer Lambert Johnson says the former judge is innocent, and he contends she is being set up by someone who is trying to destroy her reputation.
The lawyer says Maylor-Reid was freed on bail of about $2,000 Wednesday.
