Customers and staff at Sydney Fish Markets have been evacuated after a fire broke out.
Firefighters were called to the Pyrmont market at 12.45pm (AEST) on Thursday, with two crews putting out a blaze at the northern end of the building, close to the loading dock.
The fire caught alight in a room containing rubbish, but it's not known what sparked it, a fire spokesman told AAP.
A spokesman for the fish market said the blaze started in a restricted section in the auction floor area.
Around 200 people were evacuated as a precaution.
