The moment a giant sandstorm swept through Jordan's Queen Alia Airport has been caught on camera.
The airport was completely engulfed as an enormous wall of sand blew in from the desert, sweeping over planes and reducing visibility to zero.
The Daily Mail reports the storm prevented planes coming into land and forced two flights to be diverted to Israel. Arab carriers however were sent to the Jordanian city of Aqaba as they are not allowed in Israel.
The region is currently buckling under the pressure of a huge heatwave soaring through the Middle East.
Many are calling on the government to declare a national holiday due to the extreme heatwave and associated weather conditions.
