An Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) is seen arriving to lay eggs, as a baby turtle crawls toward the sea, along the shore at Ostional Beach in Santa Cruz, 350 miles north of the capital San Jose. Armed guards posted at beaches to protect hatchling turles have lead to about 13 million new born Olive Ridley turtles making it to the sea this year environmentalists say. Biologists say the numbers are on a par with 2004 and prove that they are winning the battle in Mexico against poachers.
