Virginia lawmakers dropped their droopy-pants bill yesterday after the whole thing became just too embarrassing. The bill, which would have seen people wearing their pants so low that their underwear was visible in "a lewd or indecent manner" fined $71, passed the state House on Wednesday but was unanimously killed by a Senate committee two days later. The bill's sponsor, Democratic Delegate Algie T Howell, said he introduced the legislation on behalf of constituents who were offended by exposed underwear.
