Self-help guru Wayne Dyer has died.
The American motivational speaker died overnight on Saturday (US time), according to a message posted by his family on Facebook. He was 75.
The message read: "Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night. He always said he couldn't wait for thisnext adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side. We Love You Forever Dad/Wayne, The Dyer Family."
Reid Tracy - chief executive of Dyer's publisher, Hay House - told NBC News that Dyer died in Maui, Hawaii on Saturday night.
An author of over 40 books, including 20 New York Times bestsellers, Dyer has also appeared on thousands of television and radio shows. He also has 10 PBS Specials which have raised over $250 million dollars for public television.
His first book Your Erroneous Zones, written in 1976, is believe to be one of the best-selling books of all time, with an estimated 35 million copies sold around the world.
