1. A second member of a British group of Isis militants dubbed "The Beatles" has been identified as Alexanda Kotey, 32, according to a Washington Post and BuzzFeed investigation. Kotey, a QPR football fan from west London, converted to islam in his early 20s after meeting a Muslim woman. He attended the same mosque as Mohammed Emwazi, also known as "Jihadi John". Meanwhile Spain has arrested seven people over suspected Isis (Islamic State) and al-Qaeda links. Police uncovered an operation to smuggle arms to jihadists.
2. Two workers have been killed and seven injured in an oil platform fire off the coast of Campeche, Mexico. Workers were airlifted off the rig in the Gulf of Mexico and the fire was brought under control.
3. Aid trucks and ambulances entered Syria from Turkey to help thousands of people massed on the border, fleeing the assault on Aleppo. Air strikes by Syrian regime or Russian jets are even targeting villages on the road linking the city to the Turkish border. Turkey has set up shelters for the refugees on the Syria side of the border rather than allowing them through.
4. After Sunday's Republican debate the spotlight is on Senator Marco Rubio's repeated use of pre-prepared lines. Governor Chris Christie is suggesting they show Rubio is not ready to be president.
