About 2000 Ecstasy pills have been discovered in the lining of a roof of a luxury car in western New South Wales.
Police received a public tip-off about a black BMW sedan travelling west along the Newell Highway towards Dubbo on Monday. They stopped the car on the outskirts of the town with two men inside, aged 23 and 24.
Police searched the 23-year-old passenger and allegedly found 200 Ecstasy tablets and more than A$4000 ($5140) cash. They also seized five mobile phones and three boxes of resealable plastic bags.
The car was then taken to a police holding yard, where a further search uncovered two packages containing about 2000 Ecstasy pills in the roof lining. The total potential street value of the haul is about A$60,000, police said.
The 23-year-old man from Surfers Paradise in Queensland has been charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.
