Australian soldiers wounded and captured an armed East Timorese militiaman in a clash during a routine patrol.
The clash involved a patrol of 15 soldiers from the 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment, who came across a group of two or three militiamen armed with automatic weapons.
There were no Australian casualties in the incident, which occurred about 10km south of Batugade near the East Timor border.
