SYDNEY - A man who allegedly crashed his car into a Sydney police station hours after his own wedding reception has been charged with drink driving.
Police allege the 36-year-old man had been drinking for more than four hours before he lost control of his car, which ploughed into a 1.8-metre brick wall outside the Riverwood police station about 10.30pm on Sunday.
The Riverwood man, a manager with an insurance company, escaped injury but was charged with mid-range drink driving. He was alone in the car.
"It was after the (wedding) reception ... he'd been drinking between the hours of 2.30pm and 7pm," a police spokesman said.
The police station's wall was extensively damaged and the car had to be towed away.
The man will face Sutherland Local Court on June 16.
It's the second time a drink driver from Riverwood has crashed into the local police station.
Last October, a 23-year-old man's car mounted the kerb and hit the fence.
He was charged with high-range drink driving.
