A commission of inquiry into Australia's "Dr Death" debacle opens in Brisbane today amid claims the Queensland Government helped the doctor leave the country.
The inquiry will centre on Indian-trained Dr Jayant Patel who fled Australia in April as controversy raged over botched surgery and the deaths of dozens of patients at Bundaberg Hospital, where he was director of surgery.
