Donald Trump's right-wing chief strategist, Steve Bannon, could reportedly be sacked by the end of the week.
Senior White House sources say Bannon, the former executive chairman of right-wing website Breitbart News, was in jeopardy of losing his job amid the fallout from the Trump Administration's response to the Charlottesville attack.
CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett said one well-placed source told him Bannon could be sacked on Friday.
Bannon has also been accused of trying to undermine National Security Adviser HR McMaster, who is close to new White House chief of staff, General John Kelly.
The Hill reports that former Breitbart writer Sebastian Gorka, who speaks for the White House on terrorism and national security, could also be out by week's end.
