Dolly the sheep's British creator has received Germany's most prestigious medical prize.
But about 40 anti-cloning protesters gathered outside the ceremony in Frankfurt to dispute the partly state-funded award to Ian Wilmut, head of the team that created Dolly at Scotland's Roslin Institute in 1996.
Wilmut said he would spend the 100,000 ($185,013) that comes with the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize on projects to help people with ailments such as Parkinson's disease.
