A 30-kilogram German Shepherd has been found locked inside a bird cage and dumped on the side of a road in Adelaide.
The RSPCA said the dog was found on Friday morning at suburban Blakeview.
RSPCA Chief Inspector Simon Richards said it was not known how long the dog had been in the galah cage, which was on its side under a tree.
"To lock a large dog of roughly 30 kilograms in a cage this size so that he can't even turn around, with no water, is absolutely disgusting," he said.
"I can't recall an animal being dumped in this manner. It would have been incredibly stressful for him."
