MELBOURNE: A scuba diver has died and three other divers are seriously ill after a diving trip in waters near the tip of Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay.
The charter group were diving off Queenscliff yesterday when a male diver, aged in his 70s, fell unconscious under water.
Three divers in the group rushed the stricken diver to the surface to perform CPR but they were unable to revive him.
The rescue divers are now suffering the effects of their rapid ascent.
