MADRID (AP) Police say a device has exploded outside a small town hall in northwestern Spain, causing damages but no injuries.
A Civil Guard spokeswoman said the blast occurred around 4 a.m. Monday in Beade, smashing windows and damaging some doors.
The officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with police regulations, said there was no warning call or claim of responsibility.
Last week, a small anarchist group said it set off a small device in a cathedral in northeastern Spain because of the place's alleged links with Spain's fascist past
Beade has 500 inhabitants and is best known for Senen Pousa, its mayor for the past 39 years. Pousa belongs to Spain's governing Popular Party but openly acknowledges his admiration for late dictator Gen. Francisco Franco.
