A Texas grand jury has indicted leading Republican Tom DeLay on money laundering charges, which he denounced as an "abomination".
DeLay is accused of conspiring with two colleagues to launder US$190,000 in corporate contributions to his Texans for a Republican Majority group in 2002.
DeLay could face up to life in prison if convicted.
