A Melbourne father posted a message on Facebook that he was "bout to kill ma kid" before stabbing his two-year-old daughter to death to get back at his former fiancee.
When Ramazan Acar, 24, turned up to Rachelle D'Argent's house in breach of a court order, she let him take their daughter, Yazmina, to a milkbar for some chocolate, his hearing has been told.
But Acar never returned, despite Ms D'Argent's pleas, and Yazmina's body was found in scrubland in Melbourne's northwest hours later.
She had died from stab wounds to her chest and stomach in what forensic experts said was a prolonged death on November 18 last year.
The court was told that after posting the Facebook update, Acar then sent Ms D'Argent text messages, reading: "It's ova, I did it," and "Pay bk u slut".
Acar pleaded guilty to her murder in the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday.
Her mum shook and cried during the brief hearing.
"I wanted him to look me in the eye and he did," she said.
"A quick glimpse but enough for him to say he was guilty."
According to a police summary, Ms D'Argent arrived home to find Acar sitting in his car with a 30cm knife in his lap and cuts on his body.
He seemed drunk and told her he had "had enough of life". Acar wanted to see Yazmina and asked if he could take her to the milkbar to buy a Kinder Surprise chocolate.
Ms D'Argent reluctantly agreed, as the milkbar was nearby, but he never returned. She repeatedly contacted Acar and he made excuses about where he was.
He later told her she was not getting Yazmina back and that he intended to kill her.
"How does it feel to not have your child when I did not have mine for three months?" he told her.
"Payback's a bitch. How does it feel?"
He also said: "I loved you Rachelle and look what you've made me do".
Acar then asked Ms D'Argent if he should kill Yazmina by driving at 120km/h into an oncoming car or by using his knife to stab her throat.
When he asked Ms D'Argent during a phone conversation if she had any last words for her daughter, Yazmina came onto the telephone and told her mother: "I love you", to which Ms D'Argent replied: "I love you, too" before Acar hung up, according to the police summary.
During a later call, Acar told Ms D'Argent: "She's just lying there next to me in her leggings and her top covered in blood".
"I killed her to get back at you. Even if I go behind bars I know that you are suffering."
Court documents reveal Acar, of Meadow Heights, was violent towards Ms D'Argent and had previously threatened to kill her, her mother, her mother's partner and his daughter.
When interviewed, Acar told police he had been drinking for three days and asked them if he would be appearing on the news like Melbourne CBD gunman Chris Hudson.
Acar, who was due to start drug and alcohol rehabilitation, said he threw away the knife because he was embarrassed about its large size.
He said he had wanted to kill himself too but "did not have the balls".
Acar will face the Victorian Supreme Court on May 18.
