KEY POINTS:
PERTH - The intensity of Cyclone George, which has left two people dead and up to 32 injured in northern Western Australia, is weakening but there may be little respite with another cyclone heading for the same stretch of coast.
Cyclone George is moving south-east over inland parts of the Pilbara and western Interior but its strength is expected to weaken today.
The cyclone hit the Pilbara region Thursday night as a category four but has since been reduced to category one and is now about 95km east south-east of Jigalong and 195km east south-east of Newman.
Bureau of Meteorology tropical warning centre forecaster Tony Wedd said the cyclone was travelling about 18km/h and there were no longer any significant settlements in its path.
But Jacob, a severe category three cyclone, is on its way.
It is about 940km north-west of Karratha moving south-east at about 15km/h and expected to affect the WA coast from late tomorrow or early Monday.
"But significant winds will develop on the coast some hours before," Mr Wedd said.
