Monaco's Royal Palace has released the first photos of the twins of Prince Albert II of Monaco and his wife Princess Charlene.
According to Monaco's Constitution, the boy, Prince Jacques, will be first in line to the throne, before Princess Gabriella.
The twins were born on December 10 to Albert, 56, the son of Prince Rainier and former Hollywood star Grace Kelly, Princess Grace, and his 36-year-old wife, a former South African Olympic swimmer.
Gabriella Therese Marie and Jacques Honore Rainier were born by caesarean two weeks early. In an interview with Paris Match, Princess Charlene said: "They are both very active and very expressive. They are beautiful, adorable, I'm crazy in love with them."
Gabriella arrived two minutes ahead of her brother but Monegasque law gives priority to male inheritance.
