KEY POINTS:
Singapore's High Court yesterday ruled that opposition party Singapore Democratic Party and two of its leaders must pay S$610,000 ($693,680) in defamation damages to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his father, former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, over a story published in 2006 in the party's newspaper questioning the Government's handling of a scandal.
The ruling may bankrupt the party and force it out of existence, the party said.
