China's latest regulations to curb corruption threaten to remove Communist Party officials who abuse their power or handle a protest poorly, Xinhua News Agency says.
The new regulations call for the removal of officials who "make a wrong decision" causing financial or other losses, or whose handling of a protest makes the situation worse.
Abuse of power and ordering or encouraging others to commit illegal administrative activities that lead to group protests will also be punished by dismissal, and officials who interfere with investigations into their misconduct will get "even more severe punishment".
