Schapelle Corby has fired her Indonesian legal team, her sister Mercedes has announced.
Mercedes Corby broke the news in a brief mobile phone text message to AAP.
Separately, Vasu Rasiah, an adviser to the defence team, confirmed the change.
He said Schapelle Corby delivered the news to her main Bali lawyer Lily Lubis in a phone call from Bali's Kerobokan Prison.
Rasiah said he listened in on the conversation via a speaker on Lubis' mobile phone.
"Honestly, it is a big relief," he said.
The dramatic change comes as three judges in the Bali High Court consider an appeal by the Indonesian lawyer against Corby's conviction and 20-year jail sentence for smuggling 4.1kg of marijuana into Bali last October.
Rasiah blamed the breakup of Corby's defence effort on two Perth QCs.
Yesterday Mark Trowell, QC, accused Rasiah and Lubis of asking for $A500,000 ($NZ552,600) to bribe the appeal judges.
Rasiah has insisted that the money would have been used for a public relations campaign in Indonesia for Corby
Corby's Jakarta-based lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea has also criticised the Perth silk for making the allegation.
