LONDON - A convicted terrorist, the son of jailed radical Islamic cleric Abu Hamza, got a job on London Underground, it was revealed yesterday.
Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 25, who was jailed in Yemen for plotting to blow up British and US targets, had a pass to do labouring jobs on the Tube, The Sun newspaper reported. The newspaper said he was sacked when fellow Tube staff discovered his identity and that Mostafa had been employed and issued with a permit by sub-contractors. An Underground spokesman said it appeared Mostafa had been employed as he had no criminal convictions in the UK and had a right to work in the UK. Abu Hamza was jailed for seven years in February for incitement to murder and inciting racial hatred.
John Taylor, who lost his 24-year-old daughter in the July 7 bombings, told the newspaper: "This man is a convicted terrorist and has been allowed access to sensitive parts of the Tube."
