Customs officials at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport are seizing many more Cuban cigars since tighter restrictions on incoming air cargo were put into place following a failed terrorist attack in October.
The seizure of the cigars is an unintended consequence of the new security measures that has some cigar aficionados fuming.
The US has had an embargo against Cuban goods since 1963. But many European distributors offer to mail Cuban cigars to US customers.
O'Hare customs agents were seizing some 2000 Cuban cigars every two weeks but seized more than 100,000 during a recent fortnight.
